A.I.C Girl’s School is our ministry in Kenya.

Through a network of Christian friends, we were connected to A.I.C. Girls’ School. Normally, this school houses hundreds of girls whose families pay to send them to a boarding school. It also serves as a safe haven for 86 rural tribal girls who were forced into child marriages.

Though government-owned, this school was originally founded by a church and continues to be Christian-run. This is important because these girls have deep spiritual needs. The administration is Christian and openly welcomes church involvement. Some of our partners have taught the girls about Jesus, and in this video, you can hear them singing “Thank you, Jesus” in Swahili when we brought supplies.

Thank God For Christian Leaders

Kenya does not condone child marriages; however, in rural tribal communities, it is difficult to stop. Because these marriages are not legally recognized, girls who make it to the school are safe—their husbands cannot take them back. Sadly, the 86 rescued girls can never return home to their families, as their fathers would force them back to their husbands. While the tuition-paying students go home during school breaks, the school continues to care for the 86 rescued girls year-round. That’s where we step in. The school can provide housing, but it struggles to provide food during breaks. Evon’s Hope ensures the girls have meals, toiletries, clothing, and other necessities while they remain at the school.

Where We Step In

Our Dream for A.I.C.

Our dream is to find more strategic ways to partner with this school. One goal is to provide vocational training so that when these girls graduate, they have the skills needed to find work. With no family support, entering the workforce without any skills is nearly impossible. We are currently brainstorming how to make this vision a reality one day.

How You Can Help

Many times people ask if they can donate specific items for Evon’s Hope to take to Africa. In Burundi we found the need is just too great for this kind of generosity. However, in Kenya, with the 86 girls it can be a reality. For example a Christian dentist donated toothbrushes for us to bring in 2025.
