The Manna Project

The Manna Project started by feeding 1 school with 50 children lunch each day. Now we work with 3 schools to provide lunch for +2,400 kids a day.

In Burundi, we serve rural areas in the province of Kirundo.

Most rural Burundians live on the limited produce they grow on very small plots of land. With many hungry mouths to feed, their crops can only go so far. That’s where the Manna Porridge Program steps in! This program ensures that children are fed through the love and generosity of people they will most likely never meet this side of heaven.

Burundi is one of the poorest countries in the world.

Depending on the source, Burundi ranks as either the first or second poorest country in the world. Many children drop out of school due to hunger, but our Manna Project has helped improve school retention rates in the country.

On average, families in Burundi share only one or two meals a day. The Manna Project ensures that children receive a guaranteed nutritious meal.
